The Fifth Element is plainly one of the greatest action movies of all time. It has the perfect blend of action, sci-fi, and comedy, and its world building keeps it from fading over time. The CGI holds up relatively well because it’s used sparingly and mostly in background elements. Most of what you are actually paying attention to is all practical. Credit to director Luc Besson for focusing more on developing the characters and avoiding the easy trap of falling in love with effects and ignoring the human piece of the film.
